SPINE #27: BRYN, JC Leisure, Kepla, Lizala Vi & Christopher Connor

BRYN (DJ)  After arriving in Liverpool from Croydon, BЯYN was taken under the wing of Cartier 4 Everyone, a crew including Big Effigy, MxTronik, M T Hall, Bitowski, JC Leisure, Amtrak etc, championing future sounds and experimentation. He also DJed for Manteq, a collective including Iranian MC Tardast and producers Ling, Leo and Kepla. JC Leisure  Since arriving in Liverpool JC Leisure has run the now defunct label Pale Master (publishing work by UKAEA, MT Hall, Vida Vojic) and with alumni Cartier For Everyone hosted local club nights such as HOME OF THE BRAVE and The Painted Oasis. Between touring sound system worshipping live sets of cassette-deeeejaying and late night post-club mutations of rave and free party timelines, JC Leisure has hosted parties and tours across Europe and released work on labels such as Warm Winters Ltd and Not Not Fun. https://jcleisure.bandcamp.com/album/mutations-for

Kepla  Jon’s music is influenced by sound art, collage and improvisation, and increasingly using acoustic instrumentation to create meditative and fleeting moments. He has released music on Purple Tape Pedigree, Entr’acte, Euphonic Rhythms and Pale Master, and his solo album “With the Gaze, a Shadhavar” was released by Alien Jams in 2019. Lizala Vi  Brought up in Croydon, now residing in Liverpool, Lizala Vi aka Orlandor has gained a reputation for crunchy blends, her production on the other hand can be haunted and delicate, utilising text and sound as a means of storytelling. She has contributed vocals for Iceboy Violet, previously guest mixed on radio for Just Jam, Aamin and MP3, and performed live at Festival Hyperlocal.
